Does this sound familiar?
– You dread 9am Monday morning
– You are paralysed by uncertainty
– You’re unsure where your real strengths and skills lie
– You spend your days sitting at your desk dreaming of another life
It’s time for change
If any of these statements have you nodding your head, it’s maybe time for a career re-think. Consider this; the average person spends 90,000 hours working, over the course of a lifetime. 90,000! That works out at over a third of your life.
It’s not too late
“Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year olds I know still don’t.”Baz Luhmann, Everybody’s Free (to wear sunscreen)
Whether you’re familiar with the classic floor-filler or not, the message is still the same. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t think you’re headed on the right path.
Don’t be too hard on yourself if you’re at a crossroads in your life. It’s not too late to make a change. If you feel like something’s missing, you don’t need to struggle through alone.
It’s not just you
You are not alone. The ‘I should be doing something else with my life’ feeling is surprisingly common.
It can affect your health. It can affect your happiness. It can affect everyone around you too, and I know you don’t want that.
